UCR: Physical Plant

BUILDING AND SPECIAL SERVICES provides a variety of essential services for the campus community. These include, but are not limited to:

Relocation Service. Our efficient, well trained and prepared staff is eager to be of assistance to you in any/all moves, large or small. Estimates for such services are readily presented upon request. Should the magnitude of a move be too large or the time frame too limited we will attain an estimate from our service contractor for you, and will oversee the operation to maximize your ease of mind.
Event Preparation. In order to ensure our customers, the campus community, a more affordable means of planning and putting on events, we have purchased a large number of items used in such programs and have made them available for rent. A complete list of these items and their associated costs have been determined, to cover purchase costs, care, maintenance and replacement expense only. Our fast, efficient and dependable staff will handle the complete preparation of the event for you and will restore the site immediately thereafter. Custodial Services. Routine custodial services are accomplished during the hours when the campus is least used, and service may vary between the "swing" shift and the "graveyard" shift. Our current arrangement provides for the daily service to all "public" areas as well as General Purpose classrooms, and twice per week service to all other areas. This service is available to all "non-state" funded activities as well, on a cost basis only, and includes:
    -Routine custodial service
    -Detailed Carpet Care
    -Detailed hard surface floor care
    -Complete room/building preparation

Building and Special Services also provides Emergency Service to the campus on a seven day per week, twenty-four hour basis. Our staff are responsive to the campus needs during times of internal disasters, including floods, fires, earthquakes, etc.
